The mind can propel you to achieve your desired results in life, and if you can train it to reclaim its natural capability to stay in the present and only wander off to your pre-designed destination, then nothing within the human ability would be beyond your reach.Your mind is always racing with thoughts, some, you recognize while others, you don’t, just like your breath. This is because you are continuously choosing when, and how you want to process those thoughts, which your biases, experiences, knowledge, or lack of presence play a significant role.

One thing, for sure is this, thoughts will always be racing through your mind just like the flowing…

Don’t Lose Yourself.

” It belongs to the nature of man, as from Heaven, to be still at his birth. His activity shows itself as he is acted on by external things, and develops the desires incident to his nature. Things come to him more and more, and his knowledge is increased. Then arise the manifestations of liking and disliking. When these are not regulated by anything within, and growing knowledge leads more astray without, he cannot come back to himself, and his Heavenly principle is extinguished.” – Confucius

Reading about Confucius lends so much light to the art of living in my opinion. In my article: How to Find Your True Self I hinted on several things that derail and pervert us from our true godly nature. Like Confucius rightly alluded to, we have internal regulators that are akin to our very nature. Life will throw a lot of things at us that if we not careful, have the power to alter our fundamental principles upon which we were formed.

Not too many people recognize these internal regulators that are constantly pulling us back to our true nature when peer pressure and all other forms of alternative principles set to counter our very person strike. It is sickening and sad how people drastically change for the worse due to their ignorance of the powers and influences surrounding them.

Yes there is constant pressure both from within and without, constantly seeking our attention either to derail us from our path or to pull us back on track, yes it is difficult to identify the right path that we must embark on to achieve our purpose, I agree that it is extremely difficult to stay true to yourself in a world that is constantly forcing (indirectly) us to conform, but the importance of staying on track and holding firm to your heavenly principles and to the very reason why you were sent on earth cannot be overstated, you most, therefore, adhere to your inner calling, these internal regulators admonishing you either not to or to do things when faced with difficult situations. You must 100 percent trust your intuition because it will not lead you astray, for it is the very fabric that constitutes your being, it is independent of opinions and external influences.

To tap into this powerful resource, you must guard your mind with all that you’ve got” Do Not Conform (Romans 12:2). Paul’s letter to the Romans highlights the relative importance of us not losing our true identity, it also points to the fact that those of ancient times also suffered from these same things that plague us today.

Here are some questions to help you to asses where you are at the moment and where you want to be.

What is your belief system? If you don’t have any yet, isn’t it high time you found yourself one?

What do you stand for? What are some of the things your family, friends, and colleagues know you for?

What have you been feeding your mind with?

When was the last time you questioned your beliefs?

In all your ways seek wisdom, knowledge, and understanding Proverbs 4:5-9.

Sincerely answer these questions for yourself, then apply yourself to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
